Project Overview: Hangzhou Branch of the National Archives of Publications and Culture, also known as “Wenrun Pavilion,” is a component of China's National Version Library system. As a cultural landmark of the new era, it serves as a repository strategically planned by the state to safeguard the “golden seeds” of civilization from the perspective of cultural security and cultural revival. It is also referred to as the Seed Gene Bank of Chinese Civilization. The architectural design embodies the concept of “a contemporary library building capturing the essence of Song Dynasty gardens.” It comprises 13 distinct structures, including the Main Library, South Library, Wenrun Pavilion, Mountain Storage Facility, and auxiliary buildings, with a total floor area of 103,100 square meters. It serves as the off-site disaster recovery repository for the National Version Repository of China, a repository showcasing Jiangnan regional characteristics, and the central hub for version resources in East China.
